The Dark Side of Being An Empath
Empaths are known for being healers.
With heightened emotional senses, they are sensitive to energy.
They feel and experience energy on an almost daily basis.
People who are not empaths may think that being able to sense and feel what others can feel is a good thing.
Some might even see it as a gift of sorts.
If an empath opened up and shared how they feel about this “gift” it might not be seen as a gift at all.
The empath may even tell you that the gift isn’t always a gift.
Other people heavily rely on empaths because they can take on a lot.
People trust empaths because they make them feel safe and secure.
It’s very easy for the empath to manage emotions.
The problem that continues to crop up for the empath is stress.
The dark side of being an empath is the overwhelming sound of the two different voices inside of their heads.
The empath feels the light and dark. They also feel bad and good.
This constant pull can be draining on the empath.
Negative energies seem to really pull the empath down.
The empath tries to pull away from this but really struggles sometimes to make it happen.
It’s upsetting when the empath sees bad things happening in the world.
They want to know how such evil can exist.
The biggest question an empath has is, “Why does this energy even exist if it causes pain to others?”
The dark side of being an empath is becoming drained from the negative energies that you absorb.
You won’t ever see this dark side of the empath.
The empath maintains composure and won’t break down.
They quietly observe, acknowledge and feel deeply.
As most people in the world, empaths want to be loved and accepted for the person they are inside.
The sad truth is that many empaths are taken advantage of due to their kind nature and generosity.
They are natural givers.
Empaths are ready to shower others with kindness.
The dark side of being an empath is that a heavy burden is placed from being selfless at every moment.
Even if the burden weighs down the empath, the empath won’t let it go.
She would rather shoulder the burden of the weight then pass it off to someone else to carry.
Another dark side of being an empath is ignoring your mind and body to put others needs above your own.
You can’t ignore yourself forever, though.
The empath must go on another soul searching journey to find themselves or risk being lost forever.
The dark side of being an empath is never giving away your whole heart to someone else.
The empath knows that the intensity of themselves would be overwhelming to them and their partner.
She always keeps a piece of herself tucked away from the world.
The empath keeps a guard up at all times.
She wants to succumb to overwhelming love but she dares not take that step.
The dark side of being an empath is trying to not succumb to the overwhelming emotions of fear, anger, guilt and sadness that they feel inside of them.
These feelings can be theirs or someone else’s.
It doesn’t matter.
The best way to do this is to learn to distinguish the difference in energies that are theirs or those that are imposters; and belong to someone else.
Empaths need people who will listen and understand who they are.
Empaths need to be comfortable lowering the wall to their empathic selves.
Otherwise, the empath will be destined to fight a war within themselves that never ends.
